Serbia accepting on-line gambling license applications
The Serbian Ministry of Finance has published instructions for the process, method, procedures and details for the certification of software and hardware used for on-line gambling.
The Serbian Law for games of chance was last updated in 2012 when regulatory power was given to a dedicated department of the Serbian Tax Office under control of the Ministry of Finance. The current Law outlines remote gambling regulation principles, leaving implementation details to the secondary legislation under direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance.
In August 2013 the Ministry of Finance published secondary legislation for organising on-line games of chance:
In February 2014 the Ministry of Finance appointed the Serbian Vojno-Tehnički Institut (VTI – Military Institute of Technology) as the only accredited testing laboratory for on-line gambling.
In May 2014 the Ministry published Instructions for the certification of software and hardware used for on-line gambling. In this Instruction the Ministry also authorised VTI to start accepting applications for certifying software and hardware to be used in on-line gambling.
